Your Google Ads campaign is enabled, but spend has stopped or remains much lower than expected. Start with what the account actually reports. Record impressions, clicks and cost for a complete period before changing settings. This guide concerns delivery; if the campaign spends but produces no useful results, use the conversion diagnosis.

1. Is spend really zero, or is the comparison misleading?

Check the selected account, campaign, dates and filters. Make sure the campaign has started and has not ended. Compare complete periods rather than part of today with a full previous day. Record the account time zone so another reviewer can reproduce your view.

Then separate three observations: no impressions, impressions without clicks, and clicks with low spend. They need different investigations. Use the matching row in the decision table below to investigate each case.

2. Does the issue affect the whole account or one campaign?

If every campaign stopped, ask the account owner to inspect account-level notices and billing in Google Ads. An account restriction or payment issue is not diagnosed from a campaign chart. Follow the displayed notice and its official resolution process; do not repeatedly change campaign settings to work around it.

If other campaigns still run, inspect the affected campaign and its contents. Check campaign status, dates, ad groups, ads and policy notices. An enabled campaign can contain paused or disapproved items. Copy the exact status and affected item into your review notes before deciding what to change.

Google’s delivery troubleshooting guide distinguishes account issues, dates, inactive items, targeting and bidding constraints. Use the explanation displayed for your campaign rather than treating this list as a diagnosis.

3. Are the ads eligible and the targeting usable?

Read the exact review or policy status. For a refusal, identify the affected ad, asset or destination and follow the stated reason.

Next review whether your targeting still reaches the intended audience. Check locations, schedules and keywords alongside exclusions. A negative keyword may remove useful searches; read its match type and scope before editing it. The optimization guide explains how to separate these decisions. Do not broaden targeting merely to make the spend chart rise.

4. Review bidding and budget without an automatic increase

Note the bidding strategy and any target or budget limitation shown. A restrictive target, limited eligible demand or a budget constraint can require different decisions. Use the limitation shown in the account to decide whether the target, budget or another setting needs review.

Check recent edits before making another one. A budget change made near the drop is a lead, not proof that it caused the drop. Avoid a series of unrelated changes that makes the result harder to interpret. Google’s Smart Bidding documentation also explains why automated bidding should not be treated like manual bid adjustments.

5. Check measurement and choose the next step

Conversion tracking and optimization goals also deserve inspection when a campaign uses conversion-based bidding. Look for the status of the action the campaign actually uses. A missing or unreliable signal is a question to investigate, not proof of the reason delivery stopped. Use Google’s conversion diagnostics for the measurement check.

Use this decision table to locate the blocker and choose the next check.

What to checkWhere to lookWhat to do next
Reporting period and campaign datesDate selector, filters and campaign start/end dates in Google Ads.If the view excludes the active dates, correct the reporting period. Otherwise compare complete periods and check impressions, clicks and cost separately.
Account restriction or billing issueAccount notices and Billing in Google Ads.If a notice identifies a restriction or payment problem, have the account owner follow its resolution steps before editing campaign settings.
Campaign, ad group and ad statusStatus columns at each level and the explanation of any policy or review notice. If an item is paused, confirm whether that was intentional before enabling it. For review or disapproval, inspect the affected item and the exact reason.
Targeting and exclusionsLocations, ad schedule, keywords and negative keywords. If the settings exclude the intended audience or searches, review that restriction. Keep deliberate exclusions; change only the setting responsible for unwanted blocking.
Bidding and budget constraintsCampaign bidding strategy, targets, budget and any displayed limitation. If a constraint is reported, assess it against the business goal with the account owner. Do not raise the budget when the actual blocker is eligibility or targeting.
Conversion signalThe goal used by the campaign and conversion-action diagnostics. If the signal is missing or unreliable, have the tracking owner check it before judging conversion-based bidding or changing targets.
Recent editsGoogle Ads change history around the date spend fell.Compare the edited setting with the observed drop. Test one justified change and record the result rather than reversing unrelated settings together.

6. What can Adstrateo help with?

Adstrateo’s Google Ads management workflow brings account diagnostics and supported changes into one place. Connected-account management requires a paid plan and a Google Ads connection. Available actions depend on campaign data and settings; inspect a proposed change and confirm it before execution.

That does not establish that Adstrateo can resolve an account suspension, billing problem or every delivery warning. Those checks remain with the responsible account owner in Google Ads. When publishing through Adstrateo, the user chooses paused or active status; choosing active does not override Google’s eligibility requirements.

7. After delivery resumes, ask the next question

Record what changed and compare a suitable complete period with the original observation. Check traffic quality and business results as well as spend. If clicks return without qualified outcomes, continue with the checks for spending without conversions rather than reopening every delivery setting.
